I work in a school in Stockport and at the entrance to the school there are a large number of steps. Last year a colleague of mine had a
Slip Injury and she slipped down the steps from top to bottom and really hurt her ankle. At first she thought that the
Slip Injury was only a minor accident and did not think too much about it. However, after a few days she had to go to the doctor as her ankle was still to painful to walk on. The doctor told her that it was quite a serious
Slip Injury that she had sustained and she should look into obtaining compensation for it. My colleague did exactly what he said and decided to get some solicitors involved. After much legal wrangling, she managed to get a really good settlement and she has been able to pay off her mortgage. She is obviously happy that she has got such a good settlement but, as she said, there is no compensation for not being able to use your legs as well as you could previously and she has had to curtail certain activities that she used to do all the time such as hiking etc.
